Two New Places for the Arts in Kihei

Artsy a new gallery in Kihei has its grand opening tonight May 16th from 5 to 8pm. The gallery has an eclectic mix of painting, fine craft and jewelry. This place is hard to find! It is in the back of the Rainbow Mall in the small building to the Northside.

Artists include: Sue Bailey, Kanoe Clark, Stephanie Clifton, Stephen Fellerman, Jeanette Hablewitz, Jasmine Judson, Maury King, Lisa Lappe, Leslie Le Cornu, Nichola Moss, Michael Neal, Kevin Omuro, Glenna Rand, Jennifer Stephens, Jefferson Stillwell, Sumeria and Sarah Weise

Clay Maui Art Center is also difficult to find but will surely be a new treasure for the Maui art community. Ceramic artist, Stacey Guinan has teamed up with Carolyn Eddins to create a space for art classes on the Southside. Classes will be taught through out the day for students of all ages. Specializing in clay and they have attracted a talented group of teachers including Maui favorite, Jennifer Owens. In the future they plan to expand and have drawing and painting classes.

Clay Maui has also put together a small art supply store with ceramic supplies you can not get anywhere else on the island. Plus, a lovely little gallery space greets you at the entrance. It is filled with some of the finest ceramics on the island at very reasonable prices.

Clay Maui Art Center is more than off the beaten path. Behind Tesoro on the Piilani Highway is the new Kihei Commercial Plaza. It is on the southside of the complex at 330 Ohukai Road Suite A105 (808) 874-2787
